St. Valentine’s Day is on its way
And it can be tricky to plan that perfect day to celebrate that special someone. Be it a new flame or a long-time love, we’ve compiled some romantic ideas of how to spend Valentine’s Day right here in Surrey, BC.
Dinner at the Beestro
Treat your Honey to a special dinner inspired by… honey! Fry’s Corner Beestro at the Honeybee Centre (7480 176 Street) is offering a delicious five-course meal for two, prepared by their new head chef who recently joined the team after being at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel. Keep an eye (or a tastebud) out for those dishes infused with the Honeybee Centre’s fresh, local honey. The dinner will take place on February 14th at 6:30pm, and you can register online to save your spot.
Old Surrey Restaurant
The Old Surrey Restaurant (13483 72 Avenue) has been known as Surrey’s premier dining destination for decades and makes the perfect romantic setting for a beautiful dinner with your loved one. Offering a special set menu for a four-course meal, choose from a selection of appetizers, salads, main courses and of course, dessert! The Old Surrey Restaurant is an uber intimate and romantic backdrop for the special occasion. You can make a reservation using Open Table to reserve your spot for the big day.
What could be more romantic than a pepperoni pizza covered in pepperoni hearts, a great bottle of wine and a Netflix rom-com? And, for every heart pizza ordered, the fine folks at the Pepperoni Cafe will donate a dollar to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, so not only is your heart full you’re also helping other’s hearts!
Spend Valentines Day at the theatre! Surrey’s Little Theatre (7027 184 Street), to be exact. For those who love a good laugh take in the production of The Late Christopher Bean. A comedy about a
family who rented a room to a struggling artist and then finds out that his art is posthumously valuable. Hilarity, misunderstandings and greed take centre stage as they gather the paintings that could sell for millions. Only the housekeeper seems to have genuinely appreciated Bean. Tickets can be purchased online, and at $20 a ticket, this is a pocket-friendly Valentines Day date!
Scenic mountain vistas, BC bubbly, room service, and late checkout. Are we speaking your language? The Civic Hotel (13475 Central Avenue) is offering a Couple’s Night Out package that incorporates some of the best aspects of date night. The package includes one night’s stay at the beautiful Civic Hotel, $100 to Dominion Bar + Kitchen conveniently located in the hotel lobby, and a bottle of sparkling wine. Sounds like heaven.
Drop off the kids
Hoping to go for dinner, but not sure what to do with the kids? The Surrey Museum has a Valentines Day treat planned for the kids … and you! Drop your kids (aged 6-10 years old) off, at 6:30 pm, for the evening to experience the museum’s ultimate backstage pass. They’ll enjoy a pizza party, crafts and a flashlight scavenger hunt. Just zip back at 9:30 pm to pick them up.
