Those of us at Discover Surrey have decided to embark on a series centred around our love of coffee and cafe culture. Join us as we travel through the neighbourhoods of Surrey to discover each communities coffee shops and what makes them unique.
We start our coffee shop journey in community of South Surrey:
Spent Grounds Coffee Roasters
19140 28 Ave #108, Surrey
Mon-Sun: 8am-3pm, Sat: 8am-4pm
A local favourite throughout the community, Spent Grounds is the perfect place for all your vegan and gluten-free needs. The cafe boasts a wide collection of goods, roasts their own coffee on site, and prides themselves on making a mean cup of hand poured coffee. They support local and small businesses in the Metro Vancouver area as well. A summer must-try is sure to be their gluten-free and vegan ice cream sandwiches!
Islands Cafe – Grandview
16041 24 Ave #40, Surrey
The ever-popular local White Rock cafe has opened up a second location right in the heart of South Surrey! The cafe continues to feature its popular Hawaiian aesthetic with it’s open and bright secondary location. Their North Shore Acai Bowls are always a hit and their Roasted Hawaiian Coffee will be sure to keep you coming back for a bit of that island flavour fix.
12889 16 Ave, Surrey
This new addition to the Ocean Park neighbourhood is the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and chat with friends. The spacious cafe has large windows that enhance its already warm atmosphere. They have many classic coffee shop staples to try; however, their chicken pesto paninis are a must-try for any hungry guest!

This coffee shop has the perfect cosy atmosphere. It is quiet and has the perfect vibe for some daytime studying. They have a wide array of coffee and tea related merchandise available for purchase. Kaffina’s premium pour-over coffee and espresso is their claim to fame; however, the tea-press is the perfect drink to have to compliment the quaint feeling shop and is no slouch either.

Mink Chocolates & Cafe
The Shops at Morgan Crossing
Building F, 15775 Croydon Dr #110
Mon-Tues: 8am-7pm, Wed-Fri: 8am-9pm
The second location of a Vancouver favourite, Mink Chocolates & Cafe stems from a master chocolatier and immigrant to Canada, Gustav von Mink. Mink is now owned by the 3rd generation of the Mink family. They specialize in Belgian chocolate and use it in a variety of ways. Their rich hot chocolate is to die for and is made with ganache, no powder or water to be found. If coffee is more your style, you can choose the roast, the country of origin, or the flavour style to get the perfect cup of coffee for your needs.
