Rounding up the family and heading to your local arena for a family ice skate is a classically Canadian pass-time. It’s a great way to pair good old-fashioned exercise and family bonding time. If you grew up in Surrey, you may have some fond memories of skating at the flooded field at Fry’s Corner (The Honeybee Centre stands there today), or even a game of shinny on the Serpentine Fen.

Serving up some serious childhood nostalgia throughout the season are several holiday-themed public skates. So sharpen those blades and suit up with toques and mittens and hit the ice in Surrey!

Skate With Santa

Flushed cheeks, holiday music, and The Big Man himself can be expected at Surrey’s two Skate with Santa events in the month of December. Enjoy a family skate around two of Surrey’s arenas, and take photos with Santa, himself. Skate rentals are available at both event dates, and beginners are absolutely welcome!
