Our Favourite Patios to Hit Up this Summer

Summer means patio season, brunches and cheeky drinks in the sunshine. And Surrey is THE spot to visit when you’re in the mood for a great meal outdoors. While the list of restaurants in Surrey is as big as the city itself, we’d like to share some of our favourite patios to hit up this summer.

My ShantiMy Shanti is a visually stunning restaurant, and the beauty does not stop indoors. The garden-style patio at My Shanti is a beautiful extension of the authentic and cosy atmosphere inside the restaurant and a perfect spot to savour a delicious Indian feast. Edith & Arthur Neighbourhood Public House – Located in the heritage-rich community of Fleetwood, Edith + Arthur Public House doesn’t fail to make you feel like family, with their welcoming warm atmosphere. The menu is brimming with classic pub offerings prepared from fresh, high-quality ingredients. So grab a pint and settle in for the evening at a table on their airy patio. Hooked Fish Bar – Hooked Fish Bar epitomises the West Coast lifestyle. The family-run Crescent Beach business boasts unobstructed views of the ocean from its wrap-around deck, and the #1 chowder in town. Its beachy, casual menu is based on a fish bar theme and features favourites like fish and chips, fish tacos and steamed mussels. (12157 Beecher Street | 604-542-4665)

Morgans Restaurant & Wine Bar – Mile long views of Morgan Creek Golf Course and the mountains in the distance, make the patio at Morgans Restaurant & Wine Bar the ultimate spot for relaxing after a round of golf or just whiling away a summer afternoon. (3500 Morgan Creek Way | 604-531-4262)

Dominion Bar & Kitchen– Beat the heat (it’s coming … we hope) and cool off with a refreshing summer drink on a patio with a decidedly urban vibe at Dominion Bar & Kitchen. The focus is on locally sourced ingredients, signature cocktails, BC wines and craft beer, and time-tested hospitality. (13475 Central Avenue, Unit D1 | 604-330-0229)

The Roadhouse Grille – Unassuming from the outside, the Roadhouse Grille is a fun funky 50s American diner, and their cozy homestyle cooking is a hit with the customers. Their patio is surrounded by greenery and if the weather is a little on the questionable side, you can sit in the glassed-in atrium and still get that patio feeling. (1781 King George Boulevard | 604-531-3167)

Tap Restaurant – You can’t help but feel as if you’ve stumbled across a well-kept secret on a first visit to Tap Restaurant in South Surrey. Tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood, Tap’s outdoor patio overlooks a tree-lined street and the menu this summer focuses on rustic and approachable Italian-influenced cuisine. (#101 – 15350 34 Avenue | 604-536-1954)

Sunflower Cafe – With a newly constructed garden patio, the Sunflower Cafe has created an oasis for diners in the charming neighbourhood of Crescent Beach. Order breakfast or lunch at the takeaway window and they’ll walk you through the new way of doing things.  Bonus … friendly and well-behaved dogs are welcome! (12310 Beecher Street | 604-541-8511)
