Family Day in Surrey

Has your calendar has been marked for February 17th since the holiday season? It’s the first holiday in about six weeks (not that we’re counting), and we’re here to make sure you get the very best out of Family Day! There’s so much family fun just waiting to be discovered in Surrey, and now it’s time to get planning. Whether your youngster is a nature-lover, or they have a soft spot for animals, there’s something for everyone this Family Day in Surrey.

For the animal lovers, discover exotic reptiles and animals at the Urban Safari Rescue Society. This rescue organisation is dedicated to teaching kids all about conservation and how important ecosystems (like Surrey’s) are. Take a tour of the facility and meet some reptile friends. If scales and serpents aren’t up your alley, the Honeybee Centre is a great place to take your family or loved ones and indulge in a little honey-inspired high tea!

Looking to unplug for the day? Head to the Family Day Geocache Hunt at Redwood Park! Team up with your family and navigate to specific coordinates using the provided GPS unit to discover hidden treasures! Or spend your day the old fashioned way with fun activities and sampling our baking from the woodstove at Surrey’s Historic Stewart Farm. If the great outdoors is calling, take a stroll through Green Timbers Urban Forest, or play a little soccer on the fields before settling into a delicious dinner at one of Surrey’s fabulous restaurants.

Keeping the kids active on a day off is a breeze in Surrey. The Coastal Climbing Centre hosts drop-in hours, every day and anytime, where no experience is necessary, and kids can climb the walls (literally) with zero stress. For the water baby in your family, there’s always an adventure to found at Surrey’s indoor pools. From waterslides and rope swings to lazy rivers and wave pools, there’s something for everyone … and hot tubs for weary caregivers!
