Easter. You know why you love it. It means you’ve made it through Those Months. The months spent recovering from the financial and emotional hurricane of the winter holiday season. The dreary, rainy, ‘is-spring-ever-gonna-get-here’ months. And then…
Easter! And blossoms! And sunshine! And eggs and bunnies and enough family events in Surrey to keep your kids hopped up on chocolate (pun intended) for the entire Easter break. For instance:
Easter Party Animals
Museum of Surrey – 17710 56a Avenue
April 20, 1pm to 4pm
Who says that Easter is just for bunnies? The Museum of Surrey invites you to meet Easter bunnies, cats, dogs and more as you visit with local animal rescue organizations at their “Easter Party Animals” event. Hop around the galleries on an Easter egg scavenger hunt, play some games and make bunny ears and paper eggs. Animals will be on site courtesy of the Surrey Animal Resource Centre, the SPCA, Urban Safari and the Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program. Admission is free.
We Play Kids Gym 1 – 3238 King George Boulevard
April 22, 9am to 11am
Children ages 3 – 9 are invited to the We Play Kids Gym for a fun Easter event filled with Easter-themed arts and crafts, play dough, a scavenger hunt throughout the sensory gym, and an EASTER EGG HUNT. Bring your own basket and join the hunt. The Egg Hunt will begin at 9:00am. Call the number above to pre-register your child.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Bear Creek Park Train and Mini Golf – 13700 88 Avenue
Friday April 19 until Monday April 22 from 10am to 6pm
Hold onto your hats, kids! (Or in this case, your Easter bonnets.) This Children’s Easter Festival has it all: face painting, train rides, crafts, and an egg hunt, whose bounty can be traded-in for treats. Special guest star The Easter Bunny will also be there to pose for selfies and sign autographs. (We’re actually not sure about the autograph part, but you will get to meet him.) Admission is $10.00 per person (includes tax).
Old Fashioned Easter
Historic Stewart Farm – 13723 Crescent Road
Saturday, April 20, 11am to 3pm
Feel like kicking it old school this Easter? Introduce the young ‘uns to old-fashioned farm-fun arts and crafts. Partake in DYI rabbit ears, face painting, egg-shaped cookie decoration, and scavenger hunts! This event is free and drop-in friendly.
