Christmas Dinner Crunch
It happens to the best of us. You’ve gotten all your gifts wrapped, the tree is beautifully decorated, stockings are filled, but when it comes time to think about Christmas dinner your mind goes blank. All the pressure of crafting a beautiful holiday meal can be extremely daunting. Not only are you cooking for a bigger crowd, but everyone has their favorite side dishes that it just wouldn’t be Christmas without. If you’ve procrastinated your Christmas dinner, not to worry: here are some tips to get you through the big day.
Go With What You’ve Got
A great way to avoid the grocery stores, which will without doubt be packed, is to use up things you’ve already got. Why not throw together a great cheese fondue as an appetizer? This recipe is for a fun adult cheese fondue featuring tequila and chipotle.
Time is of the essence when you’re preparing a big meal in a very short amount of time, so to save unnecessary stress, make a list of everything you need to get done, and make time tables to keep your cooking synchronized.
Stick With What You Know
While it’s always fun to try out a new recipe and make something new, when you’re under a time crunch the last thing you want is to worry about how a dish tastes. Stick to tried and true recipes and family favorites.
Enlist Some Help
The saying ‘too many cooks in the kitchen’ is valid, however some help with the dishes, preparing ingredients, or plating entrees is always appreciated.
Remember to keep calm, and enjoy time with your family over the holidays. Food brings people together and ignites memories, so be sure to add a little heart into your dishes this year.
Happy cooking and happy holidays!
